SRINAGAR: Hurriyat Conference (M) on Monday termed it “provocative” the “pressure tactics like oppression, suppression and aggressive policies adopted by the government forces against Kashmiri people and resistance leadership”. A spokesman of the conglomerate in a statement issued here denouncing the re-arrest of senior leader Mukhtar Ahmad Waza, who has been held at Anantnag sub-jail for the past five days. “The arrest of Waza and several resistance leaders and hundreds of freedom-loving people is unfortunate and uncalled for. This is only meant to break the will and resolve of the people,” he said.
He said arrest of resistance leadership, restrictions on their movement, and ban on their activities would neither be able to force them into giving up on their struggle nor yield any results for the government and its agencies. Meanwhile, expressing serious concern over the injuries to three children in a blast in Pazpora village of north Kashmir’s Sopore district, the spokesman said such tragic incidents were happening due to the unresolved Kashmir issue which has become the cause of the loss of precious lives and property.
“Keeping in view this human dimension, it becomes all the more urgent to address the issue with all seriousness so as to reach the just and acceptable solution of this issue,” he said.
