Protesters snatch soldier’s rifle in Tral during clashes

Srinagar: A service rifle of a CRPF soldier was Saturday snatched allegedly by unidentified people during a clash between government forces and protesters in south Kashmir’s Tral town, police sources said.
A group of youth indulged in stone-pelting on police and paramilitary forces at bus stand in Tral, after forces launched a cordon and search operation at Nazneenpora village following information about presence of militants, a they said.
Forces deployed in the area chased the protesters resulting in clashes.
Sources added that an INSAS rifle of a CRPF soldier was snatched by some protesters.
A hunt has been launched to recover the snatched weapon, they said.
