JAMMU: A two day training programme on Bee Keeping for unemployed youth/farmer entrepreneurs organized by Joint Directorate of Agriculture (Extension) concluded today.
Director Agriculture, A K Malhotra in his valedictory address advised the trainees to use all the technical knowledge and skills learnt during the training to carry out bee keeping activities in their respective areas.
This was the third and final phase of training programme on Bee Keeping under the Mission for Integrated Development of Horticulture (MIDH) for new entrepreneurs with the purpose of promoting bee keeping.
During the programme, President Beekeepers Association, Jammu D. P. Khajuria shared his experience with the participants and gave them valuable tips for successful Bee Keeping. He said that the most important intervention in the enterprise was chase of flora through migration of bee colonies.
Surinder Misri SMS (RL), Parveen Kousar, Assistant Entomologist Jammu, Alok Pandoh, Research Assistant Apiculture, Ramesh Sharma, Apiculture Development Assistant, Jammu and Dr Vishal Raina, JAEO R.S. Pura Jammu were the resource persons who gave lectures on different topics of bee keeping.
