Srinagar: Hurriyat Conference (G) leader and Democratic Freedom Party (DFP) chairman Shabir Ahmad Shah was Friday arrested in Tral town of south Kashmir’s Pulwama district.
A DFP spokesman told Kashmir Reader that Shah had to visit Burhan Wani’s parents before congregational prayers.
However, he said that a police party arrested him before reaching Burhan’s residence. He said that Shah had left Srinagar late last night.
Burhan, a former Hizb Commander was killed last year on July 8 triggering a massive uprising in the valley.
At least 90 unarmed civilians were killed in police and force’s actions after Burhan’s killing.
