In south Kashmir, IGP asks police to focus on militancy and safety of people

Srinagar: Calling for the focus on militancy and on protection of the people, Inspector General of Police, Kashmir Zone SJM Gillani on Wednesday directed the police  officers  to further fine tune their anti-militancy operations and also keep a check on social crimes.
IGP Kashmir who was accompanied by DIG south Kashmir SP Pani said this in the meetings of officers at district police offices at Shopian and Pulwama.
He directed the officers to work with more dedication  to consolidate the peaceful atmosphere in their respective areas.
The officers of the two south Kashmir districts apprised the IGP about the security scenario, crime control, community policing and anti-militancy operations in their respective jurisdictions.
Speaking to officers and constables Gillani said that welfare of jawans has always been priority and added that more welfare schemes have been introduced to benefit the jawans and their families in recent times. He however, impressed up them to work with dedication and devotion to ensure a sense of security and peace among the public.
