Srinagar: Heavy landslides have blocked Srinagar-Jammu highway even as weatherman has predicted light to moderate rains in next 24 hours.
The highway got blocked after a heavy landslide hit the road at Mehr in Ramban district. Almost the entire stretch of the highway has come under huge boulders and debris, official sources said.
Men and machines of the Border Roads Organization are working to clear the highway, they said.
As per reports, around 400 vehicles are stranded at various places on the road.
Meanwhile the temperatures across Kashmir have risen because of prevailing overcast conditions.
