SRINAGAR: Awami Itihad Party (AIP) president and MLA Langate, Er Rasheed on Sunday termed the report of Ministry of Home Affairs as “disturbing, unacceptable and infiltration in religious affairs and rights of expression”.
As per a statement issued here, Rasheed while addressing party workers in Handwara said, “The report of home ministry is unacceptable and amounts to infiltration in religious rights. However the another side of the coin gives ample proof that Indian state is feeling highly frustrated in Kashmir and is running short of options to deal with the situation.”
He said it is “shameful” that the report has proposed to create communal divide among the majority community and “this shameful design should act as an eye opener for everyone to prove who is communalising the Kashmir issue”.
“New Delhi must understand that Kashmir issue doesn’t belong to a particular region, section, religion, caste or creed but is a very serious and sensitive issue which has political dimensions besides involving fundamental and human rights of millions of people,” he said.
The MLA Langate said New Delhi has “already done worst” by creating “counterinsurgents” and carrying “catch and kill” like notorious operations.
He also accused New Delhi of trying to mislead the people of India and the world community and asked for concrete measures to resolve the dispute.
“Kashmiris will not succumb by these colonial and harsh measures as they have seen worst in the past 27 years and will never compromise on the right to self-determination,” Rasheed added.
