SRINAGAR: National Conference (NC) on Saturday held high level meetings of its senior functionaries, legislators, and office bearers for the central, south and north zones to review party affairs and discussed the strategies for the party’s programs in the coming months.
As per a statement issued here, the meetings were presided over by NC General Secretary Ali Mohammad Sagar along with Provincial President Nasir Aslam Wani, south zone president Sakina Ittoo, north zone president Mohammad Akbar Lone, and central zone president Ali Mohammad Dar.
“The party legislators and functionaries were asked to initiate mass outreach programs in their respective areas and continue to highlight public grievances and issues,” the statement said.
Sagar on the occasion asked the party legislators and leaders to ensure the party was accessible to the common man in every nook and corner of the State and said it was party’s foremost priority to stand for the aspirations and interests of the people.
“National Conference is a political movement based on the tenets of selfless service, courage and honesty. Our founding father, Sher-e-Kashmir Sheikh Mohammad Abdullah has struggled and sacrificed more than anyone can ever imagine with a goal of protecting the interests of the people. It is this legacy that we should strive to nurture and emulate. We have never based our politics on the self-seeking goal of our own political empowerment but have always and will continue to struggle for the empowerment of our people,” he said.
The NC general secretary asked party leaders to prepare for various upcoming elections.
