SRINAGAR: An employee of the Power Development Department (PDD) lost his both arms after he was electrocuted in north Kashmir Baramulla district this week. PDD employee, identified as Mohammad Ramzan Tantray was repairing the 7000 KV high tension line when the electricity was suddenly restored and he sustained severe electric shocks.
Later, the PDD employee was rushed to Bone and Joint Barzulla. Both of his arms were amputated after a surgery conducted on Tuesday, a doctor at the hospital said, adding, he had sustained severe injuries which could not be cured.
Father of four children, Tantray hailed from Sangrama Baramulla. He was the sole bread earner of the family.
“We are concerned about the family of Tantray,” Tantray’s close relative told Kashmir Reader. “We hope PDD will take care of its employee. So far the family is spending money on his treatment”.
