Srinagar: The Regal Chowk Traders Association has complained that the market continues to be in slump mainly due to administrative apathy even as the RCTA sought personal intervention of Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti.
The RCTA in a handout said a few hours of downpour is enough to leave the marketplace waterlogged whereas dewatering has been a distant dream
RCTA Secretary General Farhan Kitab said the area reels under darkness with sunset as there are no streetlights with appeals by association to install heritage lampposts in the area have no takers.
The RCTA said the public transport facility especially Tata Sumo also disappear by afternoon. “By evening there are no cabs catering to helpless commuters,” the RCTA said.
RCTA appealed the concerned including concerned MLA and minister Syed Altaf Bukhari to personally look into the matter.
