Srinagar: The Jammu and Kashmir government has announced several restrictions to control wastage at social, government and private gatherings sources said. Consumer affairs Minister Choudhary Zulfikar Ali Tuesday said that the government has imposed restrictions on the injudicious use of essential commodities in any such functions. The government has further banned the use of loudspeakers and fire-crackers in any government or social functions. Sending of dry fruits and sweets as an extra with invitations for any such occasions had also been barred by the government.
The government has also imposed restriction on the number of invitees at any functions. While the total number of people permitted to be invited on marriage of son is 500, the number goes down to 400 for marriage of son and 100 for engagements. The government has even imposed restriction on the number of vegetarian and non-vegetarian dishes permitted to be presented during any such functions.
