Srinagar: The Regal Chowk Traders Association (RCTA) Monday complained that the market continues to be in slump mainly due to administrative apathy even as the RCTA sought personal intervention of Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti.
The RCTA in a handout said a few hours of downpour is enough to leave the marketplace waterlogged whereas dewatering has been a distant dream
RCTA Secretary General Farhan Kitab who also is the Media head of Kashmir Traders and manufacturers Federation KTMF said besides all this the area reels under darkness with sunset as there are no streetlights. “Time and again we appealed the concerned including the divisional commissioner sahib to install heritage lampposts in the area but our pleas have no takers,” Kitab said.
The RCTA said the public transport facility especially Tata Sumo also disappear by afternoon. “By evening there are no cabs catering to helpless commuters,” the RCTA said.
RCTA appealed the concerned including concerned MLA and minister Syed Altaf Bukhari to personally look into the matter.
