Mirwaiz Qazi Yasir released after 10 days

Anantnag: The Mirwaiz of South Kashmir, Qazi Yasir Ahmed was released on Sunday after ten days of imprisonment.
Qazi Yasir was arrested on the 9th day of February 2017 from his office at Islamic Research Institute in Anantnag.
The concerned Station House Officer (SHO), Ayaz Geelani, confirmed the release of Qazi.
Strong protest was held in Anantnag on Saturday against the continuous incarceration of Qazi Yasir. A march was thwarted by police at the grand mosque of Anantnag. The party office bearers later addressed a press conference on Saturday at Qazi Manzil, wherein they condemned Yasir’s “illegal” detention and warned the authorities face “dire consequences” if he was not released within 24 hours. The party had also called for a shutdown on Monday against Qazi Yasir’s detention.
According to sources in Ummat e Islami, the party was going for wide scale protests in all the 4 districts of Southern Kashmir.
