Srinagar: Police on Wednesday arrested JKLF chairman, Muhammad Yasin Malik to prevent him from marching towards Kulgam, sources said.
Malik was arrested from his Maisuma residence.
Pertinently, the joint resistance leadership has called for a march to south Kashmir’s Kulgam today to express solidarity with four militants and two civilians killed on Sunday during a gunfight and ensuing clashes.
Authorities early in the morning placed Hurriyat (M) chairman, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq under house arrest.
Hurriyat Conference (G) chairman, Syed Ali Geelani is undergoing house detention since long at his Hyderpora residence.
Geelani, Mirwaiz and Malik are jointly spearheading what they call ‘movement to achieve right to self determination’.
