SRINAGAR: South Kashmir Traders & Manufactures Federation in association with the Commercial Taxes Department Kashmir on Wednesday organised a seminar-cum-training programme regarding e-filing of Tax returns at Anantnag district of south Kashmir.
Speaking on the occasion, Commercial Taxes Officer, Anantnag, Hamaid Ganai said the seminar is aimed at creating awareness of the tax payers and traders. He said a lot of traders are not still well-versed in e-filling of VAT Returns and are dependent on others in this regard.
“The main focus is how to train a common trader to file e-returns and give him some basic tips and knowledge regarding e-filing of tax returns,” he said, adding, “We have received 74% of e-filing of tax returns during the tax quarter ending December, 2016 which is the highest compliance of e-filing of tax returns in any circle. Such training programmes shall be arranged at regular intervals till the every dealer and trader gets benefited,” he said.
Ganai said the main benefit of e-filing of tax return is to save time, money, energy, and manpower of both the tax payer and the department. The Power Point Presentation regarding the e-filing was delivered by the programmers of Tata Consultancy Service (TCS).
South Kashmir Traders Federation president Haji Abdul Rashid Dar hailed the initiative of Commercial Taxes Department and apprised the CTO of the problems being faced by traders while filing the e-filing of tax return.
