Bandipora: Scores of Rehbar-e-Taleem (ReT) teachers on Wednesday assembled in protest, here in Bandipora, demanding release of pending salaries of last seven months. The teachers assembled at Nishat Park where from they marched towards mini-secretariat Bandipora amid anti-government slogans holding banners and placards which read “We want justice, release our salaries”.
State president Farooq Ahmad Tantray, district president Khalid Rafeeq and publicity officer Anjum who organised the protest, said that “governments step-motherly approach” towards ReT’s has caused their families to suffer. “Our expenses and pending dues have crossed all limits, how long can this government keep its eyes shut to our miserable situation which we have been forcefully put in,” they said.
They added that the shopkeepers have stopped “lending goods to us”, as “we owe them thousands of rupees”
Employees marched into the premises of DC office amid sloganeering. They said that the government should learn to respect the “nation builders”.
“Ministers should be held accountable for the money laundering, which otherwise was released for purpose of SSA employee salaries” they said.
The ReTs forum has called for district wise protest for the release of their pending salaries from last seven months.
