WGA to hold selection trials on Feb 7
Srinagar: Winter Games Association of J&K is holding two day selection trials starting from February 7th at Gulmarg, a statement issued by the association said.
The players selected will represent the National Junior Alpine Skiing Championship scheduled to be held at Auli (Uttrakhand) from 19th to 22nd February.
On February7 there will be elimination round for those skiers who could not participate in District Championships organized by the Association recently.
The first three position winners will be given chance to compete in the final rounds to be held on following day. Players (boys and girls) who secured first three positions in the last district championships are seeded for the final rounds of the trials to be held on 8th February. The skiers of 2003-04 born category will have direct selection.
According to statement “The participants shall have to arrange the transportation, board and lodge, skis etc themselves.”
The entry forms would be available at the venue. The participants shall bring two PP size photographs, date of birth and advance course certificates with them.
The age categories for trials are born 1996-97-98; 1999-2000; 2001-02 and 2003-04 for boys and girls.
