Srinagar: The joint resistance leadership that spearheaded the five-month agitation in Kashmir after the killing of Hizbul Mujahideen commander Burhan Wani, on Monday issued a fresh protest calendar asking people to observe complete shutdown on February 3, 9 and 11. Syed Ali Geelani, Mirwaiz Umar faroq and Yasin Malik are leading the JRF.
From February 1 to 15, there will be general relaxation for ten days while for five days, shutdown calls have been issued. According to a statement, on February 3, shutdown would be observed as resistance day to resent the court verdict against Muzaffar Ahmad Rather of Kulgam. February 9 and 11 would be observed as ‘martyrdom anniversary’ of Mohammad Afzal Guru and Mohammad Maqbool Bhat respectively. The JRF has asked people to hold peaceful protests across the valley after the culmination of Friday prayers.
On February 8, Bar Association will hold a peaceful protest in Srinagar.
