JAMMU: Minister for R&B and Parliamentary Affairs Abdul Rehman Veeri, informed the house that 10 road projects have been taken up in Nowshera Tehsil at an estimated cost of Rs 23.9 crore against which Rs 6.01 crore stand utilised till date.
Replying to a question by Surinder Kumar Choudhary in the upper house, the Minister said that construction work on road from Ganyia to top Langer, Bareri to Dhanaka, Nonial via Sakhnagala to Bhatta, Bhawani to Mangla Matta, Kampla to Pukherni, Kanara to Bassa, Laroka to Kanara, Bhawani to Laroka, Guni via Mangal Dei to Seri and Laroka to Kanara has been taken up under state plan, BADP and NABARD. He said out of Rs 6.01 crore works done, Rs 4.93 crore have been paid to the contractors from time to time.
Legislators Mohammad Yousuf and Sham Lal Bhagat in their supplementary questions urged for time-bound completion of ongoing roads and bridge projects. They also sought further upgradation of road connectivity in their constituencies.
