Everything tangible was done to restore normalcy, government says in assembly

Jammu: Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti on Friday revealed in the house that in order to restore the normalcy in state during 2016 unrest, the  government had taken serious steps including extra deployment of security forces, imposition of curfew, temporary suspension of internet services, lawful actions including preventive detentions besides the deployment of additional troops on the national highway.
In a written reply to NC legislator Main Altaf’s query, Mehbooba said that the health services were provided to all the injured who reported to or were brought to the health institutions during the turmoil.  “The availability of essential supplies like food grains, sugar, LPG, petroleum products were also ensured in almost entire Kashmir valley,” Mehbooba said in her reply.
‘’The civil administration also proactively engaged with prominent citizens, members of civil society, religious leaders, grass roots representatives and masjid committees,’’ she said.
She further revealed that Home Minister also visited Srinagar twice during the law and order disturbances and met with number of delegations belonging to various shades of opinions, all-party delegations led by hoe minister visited Srinagar from 4th and 5th September 2016.
