Srinagar: Dukhtaran-e-Millat on Thursday said that victims of state violence have a right to receive compensation from the government. “The families of the people who were killed or those who lost vision to the pellets in the recent uprising against the Indian state oppression in Jammu and Kashmir should take the ex-gratia from the oppressors,” DeM said in a statement.
“Although the sacrifices of the youth and the vision of those blinded by the pellets cannot be valued by money or jobs, but the families should take whatever they are provided as the killer has to compensate for the crimes or murders he has committed against innocents civilians,” DeM chief Aasiyah Andrabi said.
Aasiyah said the loss of the lives lost can only be valued by applying “eye for eye” and “tit for tat”.0 However, she said that the money or jobs provided to the victims is not any favour by the oppressor rather “blood money” for the crimes it has committed against innocent civilians.
“Paying ex-gratia to the victim families is the acceptance of a crime committed by a criminal,” Aasiyah Andrabi reiterated.
She said that the ex-gratia relief by the rulers is actually blood money that they are bound to pay. “Since they have committed mass crimes and murders of our youth they have to compensate the families for the same,” Andrabi said.
She said that by paying ex-gratia, the puppets should never underestimate that we as a nation are going to back off from the struggle for the right to self-determination.
“By paying ex-gratia to the victim families never means that they have brought us. The struggle for the larger cause will continue,” Andrabi reiterated.
“They first suppress us for demanding right to self determination. Then they go on a killing and a blinding spree by using bullets and pellets and then they accept that they have committed crimes,” she said.
And for committing these atrocities they pay blood money.
Even if India and its stooges shower us with all her treasuries, the struggle for the right to self-determination and completion of Pakistan,” she said.
