PULWAMA: Inhabitants of Rajpora, Haal, Shaadi-Marag, Nekas, Bellow and adjoining areas of Rajpora are demanding speedy construction of a bridge on Kaen Nallah stream which was damaged in September 2014 floods.
The residents told Kashmir Reader that they were facing hardships, particularly during rainy season while crossing a muddy diversion.
The school going children are facing problems mostly in rainy days.
“During rainy days and flash floods we are apprehensive about the safety of our school going children,” the residents said.
“My vehicle got stuck in diversion causing damage to it,” Nasir Bhat, a resident said. “The construction of bridge was started in December 2015 but due to the apathetic attitude of the concerned authorities, its construction craves completion,” the residents said and demanding immediate construction of a bridge over the stream.
An official in the Roads and buildings (R&B) Pulwama told Kashmir Reader that work on bridge was delayed during summer uprising, but was in progress now. The bridge will be completed in May 2017, he said.
