Restrictions in Srinagar parts on massacre anniversary

Srinagar: Authorities on Saturday imposed restrictions in Maisuma and Lal Chowk areas of Srinagar to prevent any protests on the 27th anniversary of Gaw Kadal massacre.
All shops and business establishments are closed in the civil lines area on the call of joint resistance leaders including Syed Ali Geelani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Muhammad Yasin Malik.
Authorities have erected barricades at several places to prevent any protests.
The troopers of CRPF had allegedly killed 52 civilians in Gaw Kadal area on Jan 21, 1990 when they were protesting aginst the highhandedness of government forces in Chota Bazar area.
