Srinagar: Hurriyat Conference (M) on Thursday said the unresolved Kashmir is not only a danger for the subcontinent but the entire South Asia while appealing the international community to play a meaningful role in resolving the vexed issue as per the wishes and aspirations of its people.
As per a statement issued here, a Hurriyat delegation visited Stikpora, Bijbehara, and Beewora in south Kashmir where condolence meetings were held to pay tributes to Adil Ahmad Reshi, Abid Ahmad Sheikh, and Masood Ahmad Shah, the three youth killed in a recent encounter with government forces at Awoora, Pahalgam.
Senior leader of the amalgam, Mukhtar Ahmad Waza, on the occasion addressed the gathering. “The martyrdom of youth is a shinning beacon of the ongoing resistance movement. These people sacrificed their youth for a great cause and left people with a heavy burden to fulfill the mission they were striving for.”
On the occasion, the Hurriyat (M) chairman Mirwaiz Umar Farooq talked to the bereaved family members over phone and expressing sympathy and solidarity with them. “People and resistance leadership are duty bound to take the martyrs’ mission to its logical conclusion,” Mirwaiz said.
He said Hurriyat is “fighting both at the political and diplomatic levels to fulfill the mission of the people of Kashmir for which they are offering selfless sacrifices of their lives and properties”.
Mirwaiz said the primary responsibility of the Hurriyat leadership was to ensure that the vexed Kashmir issue was resolved as per the wishes and aspirations of Kashmiris and promised that the “sacrifices of tens of thousands of martyrs would not be allowed to go waste”.
