SRINAGAR: As part of the ongoing Skill India Program, the GoI Minister for Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, Rajiv Pratap Rudy, Thursday inaugurated maiden Skill Development Institute “Arsh Institute of Health Sciences and Technology” at Khonmoh on the outskirts of Srinagar.
Skill India is aimed to create opportunities, space and scope for the development of the talented youth and to upgrade sectors which have already been put under skill development, besides identifying new sectors for skill development. The programme is also aimed at providing training to over 40 crore people in India in different skills by 2022.
Speaking on the occasion, Rudy stressed the students that giving preference to formal education alone won’t help in getting jobs and earning livelihood. “If the students opt for some skill development programmes along with the formal education, it surely will help them in getting jobs and earning livelihood from various sources,” he said.
Rudy encouraged students to take part in skill development courses and said, “I will help in developing the skilled Kashmir so that no one in Kashmir remains unemployed.”
Founder and Chairman of Arsh Institute of Health Sciences and Technology, Mohammad Anwar Khan said the he has started this mission in Kashmir and will be content in taking it forward. “I will take this mission to every far flung area in the state so that people get benefited,” Khan said.
