Jammu: The Jammu and Kashmir assembly Thursday unanimously passed a resolution for creating “a conducive atmosphere” for the return of Kashmiri pundits and other migrants to the valley.
Soon after the house resumed, opposition leader and National Conference Working President Omar Abdullah suggested the resolution.
Omar said that “unfortunate circumstances” led to the migration of people of all the communities.
The resolution was later approved by the minister of Parliamentary Affairs, Abdul Rahman Veeri.
It was moved by the Speaker Kavinder Gupta and passed by a voice vote.
