Srinagar: The Hurriyat Conference on Wednesday said that chief minister Mehbooba Mufti’s claims of not re-arresting those bailed out by the court proved “a brazen lie” when one more PSA was slapped against 86-year-old Shah Wali Mohammad and Nazir Ahmad Ganai while Molana Sarjan Barkati was shifted to central jail.
A Hurriyat spokesman said that few weeks back, court in its orders acquitted and bailed out Shah Wali Mohammad and Nazir Ahmad Ganai from all charges. However, the police administration detained both these pro-freedom leaders and slapped PSA against them and shifted to Kupwara and Kot Bhalwal jails respectively. The spokesman said that wife of Shah Wali Mohammad is suffering from cancer and Shah himself is suffering from multiple age related ailments. Ridiculing the “egoistic behavior” of administration, the Hurriyat said it was worst type of state terrorism to re-arrest these leaders. “The politics of Indian rulers and its henchmen in the state are based on deceit,” the statement added.
Criticizing Mehbooba Mufti for her misleading statement regarding detainees, the Hurriyat said that during last fifteen days the political activists released were re-arrested and PSA was slapped against them.
