Srinagar: Liberation Front chairman Yasin Malik on Monday condemned the ‘ongoing police oppression’ on his party activists in south Kashmir. Terming the ‘police attitude’ against peaceful political activists as ‘most callous’, Malik in a statement said that police in Yaripora Kulgam is intimidating JKLF district president Abdul Sattar and office bearer Nazir Ahmad on daily basis. “The JKLF district president is being asked to present himself before police and yesterday (Sunday) police raided the residence of office bearer Nazir Ahmad at Badroo and threatened to vandalize his house if he fails to present himself before police,” Malik said.
He said that Achabal police is also looking for Master Akram and intimidating him and his family.
Malik said the threats and intimidations and police terrorism will never succeed in breaking the will of Kashmiri people and our march towards freedom will continue despite this highhandedness.
Meanwhile, JKLF paid rich tributes to slain militants of Pahalgam and expressed solidarity with their bereaved family.”These young Kashmiris are sacrificing their lives for the sacred cause and as a nation we are indebted to these sacrifices and pray to Allah almighty to fulfill the mission of these great martyrs,” the statement said.
