Jammu: MLA Langate, Engineer Rashid asked the government to act against those who attacked Muslims in Kathua following a clash over alleged cow slaughter.
“We offer sincere cooperation to people of Jammu province for maintaining communal harmony and finding an everlasting solution to political dispute. If the issue is resolved the people of state will prosper and it would be in the long interests of people of India and Pakistan as well,” he said while demanding a plebiscite for resolving Kashmir.
“Let all of us understand the urgency of resolving dispute and force India and Pakistan to hold plebiscite on both sides of LoC, as we can’t compromise on our huge sacrifices offered for resolution of dispute,” Rasheed told a gathering at Talab Khatikan.
He also lashed out at the government for not disbanding “village defence committees” and demanded a “credible probe into the atrocities committed by these committees.”
He accused police and civil administration of harassing Muslims from Kishtawar to Rajouri.
