SRINAGAR: Jammu Kashmir Liberation Front chairman Yasin Malik on Tuesday condemned the communal violence in Kuthua and alleged that chauvinist forces had unleashed a reign of terror against oppressed Muslims in Jammu region.
He said that the brazenness of “communal elements” had reached to the level where they have started their anti-Muslim actions in broad-day light.
Blaming PDP led government for the situation, Malik said that so-called rulers were acting as subservient to chauvinist forces and were hell bent on implementing their ugly agenda in the state. Terming these attacks as unacceptable, Malik said that Kashmiris would not accept these attacks and will resist these at all costs.
The JKLF chairman also paid tributes to revered saint Sheikh Syed Abdul Qadir Jeelani while addressing a gathering at the Buqa Aaliyah Gousia Sarai Bala Srinagar Tuesday.
Malik said that the saints and spiritual leaders have shown us the way of life and taught us to struggle for honor and dignity of humans. “While fighting oppression small nations need to focus and adopt a uniform approach as taught by our great religious leaders,” he said.
“We have forgotten the teachings of these spiritual leaders and because of this ignorance we are today suffering in our daily lives. We have lost the moral freedom granted by this spiritual peer and today as a nation we are facing lot of difficulties and hardships.”
Asking people to shun hypocrisy, Malik said, “Spiritual leaders like Sheikh Abdul Qadir Jeelani have taught us to stand firm against oppression and tyranny, they taught us to shun double-faced approach, hypocrisy and collaborating with tyrants and as an oppressed nation we need to stand firm against oppression and tyranny and tread the path of resistance with sincerity and oneness.”
Meanwhile, Malik also expressed his grief over the demise of the mother of JKLF district organiser Bandipora Mushtaq Ahmad and expressed solidarity with the bereaved family. JKLF district president Syed Nisar Jeelani and others visited the residence of the deceased and expressed solidarity with the bereaved family.
