SRINAGAR: Syed Ali Geelani-led Hurriyat Conference on Monday held a meeting of its executive body which was chaired by conglomerate’s general secretary Shabir Ahmad Shah at latter’s Sanat Nagar residence.
As per a statement issued here, the meeting wasattended by leaders or representatives of the constituent parties “who took stock of events during recent people’s uprising”. The participants on the occasion hailed the sacrifices by people and expressed sympathy with those martyred, maimed and blinded by government forces.
The meeting “unanimously condemned the curbs and restrictions by state administration and termed it highly deplorable”. “The constituents of Hurriyat Conference are not allowed to meet their chairman Syed Ali Geelani. Such deceptive tactics of administration won’t deter us from pursuing the cherished mission,” the meeting observed.
During the meeting, Shabir Ahmad Shah sought opinions and observations from all constituent members and it was decided that meeting will continue on January 10.
The leaders who participated in the meeting include, Ghulam Nabi Sumji, Naeyem Ahmad Khan, Mohd Shafi Rishi, Ghulam Ahmad Gulzar, Mohammad Yousuf Naqash, Raja Meraj u Din, Mohammad Yassin Ataie, Zamrooda Habib, Yasmeen Raja, Molvi Bashir Ahmad, Bilal Sidiqee, Mohammad Yusuf Nadeem, Gh Mohammad Nagoo, Mohammad Shafi Lone, Devider Singh, Mohammad Ramzan Khan, Syed Mohammad Shafi, and Hakeem Ab Rashid.
