Srinagar: The employees’ joint action committee (EJAC) on Thursday condemned the order issued by the consumer affairs department that violates the SRO-157, mandatory for the government departments and undertakings to utilize the services of J&KSRTC vehicles.
The EJAC in a meeting chaired by president Abdul Qayoom Wani at Jammu said that under the influence of corporate houses and influential businessmen, the government has issued the order in violation of SRO-157 which has adversely effected the interests of SRTC corporation its employees and in general public which is no way acceptable to employees of SRTC and employee fraternity in J&K.
Wani warned the government to withdraw the draconian and anti-corporation order aimed to hit the financial position of the corporation and its employees.
He said J&KSRTC has its own history by serving the common people of state in difficult times but government seems adamant to outsource the corporation to protect the interest of the business corporate. He said protest given by the SRTC Union on January 9 and 10 is justified, timely and EJAC will fully support the protest. Wani said it was shame for the people at the helm of affairs that our nation builders (teachers/head teachers) working under SSA/RMSA schemes are without salary for the last six months and their families have reached the stage of starvation.
