JAMMU: Cooperative Department Thursday organised a camp here at village Ladore of block Marh to create awareness among the local women about the government schemes for their socio-economic development.
A large number of women participated in the camp and expressed their willingness to work united for changing their socio-economic status.
On the occasion, Deputy Registrar (Agri) Jammu Naresh Kumar Sharma exhorted upon the women participants to take up gainful commercial activities like backyard poultry, Dairy Development, Bee Keeping, Floriculture, depending upon the potential and their interest.
He said that activities could be under taken individually or through collective basis to get maximum benefits which would percolate to both individually and collectively.
The Deputy Registrar asked the participants to take maximum benefits of the government schemes available under Rashtriya Krishi Vikas Yojana. The schemes envisage uplift of the poor by encouraging them morally and financially to take up economic activity.
The Deputy Registrar assured the participating members that once they qualify for the registration of proposed cooperative the department would provide them all necessary logistics.
