Srinagar: The state vigilance organisation on Tuesday produced charge-sheet against a former assistant executive engineer and three top officials of the consumer affairs department in the court of special judge anti-corruption.
The first challan was produced in the case of FIR No 35/2014, police station Vigilance Organization Kashmir against accused public servant Mushtaq Ahmad Tenga , resident of Al-Noor Colony Chanapora, Srinagar, the then AEE Doodhpathri Development Authority.
The case was registered on the basis of a written complaint lodged by a contractor Mohammad Yousuf Mir who alleged that Tenga was using dilly dallying tactics for releasing the payment against executed work and finally demanded bribe of Rs 5,000 for clearing the bill payment. However, before paying the said amount to the accused, the complainant who was against the bribe brought the tainted money along with the written complaint for taking legal action against the accused public servant under law.
A trap team caught the accused AEE red handed while demanding and accepting the bribe from the complainant. The investigation of the case was concluded as proved against the accused and after the accord of government sanction for launching prosecution, the challan of the case was produced before the court of special judge anti-corruption.
In another case, challan was produced against former director, Joint Director, Supervisor, and the storekeeper of the CA&PD department, Kashmir besides the proprietor Kashmir Pulses Flour Mills Pampore (private person) in the court of Additional Special Anti-corruption Judge Pulwama Parvaiz Hussain Kachroo.
The case was registered in police station VOK on the outcome of the Joint Surprise Check conducted into the allegations of misappropriation of food grains by Kashmir Pulses Roller Flour Mill, Kadlabal Pampore in connivance with officers and officials of the Consumer Affairs and Public Distribution Department Kashmir.
During the investigation conducted by VOK it was revealed that the Joint Surprise Check conducted into the matter has revealed that during the period 2007-2008, a substantial quantity of 7159 quintals wheat, 113 quintals of flour and 228 quintals of wheat bran, besides, 25802 empty gunny bags have been misappropriated by Kashmir Pulses Roller Flour Mill, Kadlabal Pampore in connivance with officers/officials of CA&PD Department, Kashmir.
The investigation of the case was finally concluded as proved against the accused public servants.
