Srinagar: An emergent session of Employees Joint Action Committee (EJAC) was convened under the chair of EJAC President Abdul Qayoom Wani on Sunday. The session discussed that employees are being pressurised, implicated in fake cases and put behind bars. Such practices were not tolerable under any circumstances, the EJAC said.
The session strongly criticised such actions and it was urged that such actions should be put to halt at once. Abdul Qayoom Wani while addressing the session said that EJAC won’t hesitate in taking stringent steps to protect the honour and dignity of govt employees. “The organisation shall defend such employees who are involved in fake cases at organisational and legal levels so that the employees may not feel insecure,” Wani said, and urged the government to put a stop to such practices. He said that putting employees under suspension will have serious repercussions.
Wani reiterated his stand forcefully that the use of pellet guns should be completely banned and human rights violations should be stopped.
The session strongly criticised the cold-blooded murder of the students Nasir Shafi Qazi of New Theed Harwan and Wasim Ahmad Lone of Nadihal Baramullah. Members urged the government to punish the guilty stringently.
The session strongly criticised the arrest of human rights activist Khurram Parvez and demanded his immediate release.
