Human rights defender Khurram booked under PSA

Srinagar: A day after a court ordered release of noted human rights defender Khurram Parvez, the government on Wednesday booked him under draconian Public Safety Act.

An officer bearer of the rights group said Khuram has been taken to Police control room Srinagar for medical check-up before shifting him to jail.

The rights activist, who was not allowed to travel to Geneva to attend the ongoing United Nations General Assembly, was arrested last week by the police and later shifted to Kupwara sub-jail. His arrest has drawn condemnation from International human rights organizations and the world intellectuals.
