Government books Hurriyat spokesperson Akbar under PSA, shifts him to Jammu jail

Srinagar: The government on Monday slapped Public Safety Act (PSA) on Hurriyat (G) chief spokesman Ayaz Akbar and shifted him to Kotbolwal jail in Jammu.

Sources told KNS that Ayaz Akbar who continued to remain under detention since more than two months was shifted to Jammu jail after authorities slapped PSA on him.
Ayaz was lodged at Parimpora wherefrom he was shifted to Srinagar’s central jail following which he was shifted to GOs mess Humhama.
He was detained two months back in view of the ongoing uprising in Kashmir. “Today, the authorities slapped PSA on him and shifted him to Kot Bolwal jail in Jammu,” sources said.

Hurriyat (G) general secretary Muhammad Ashraf Sehrai, Hurriyat leader Altaf Shah, JKLF leader Showkat Bakhshi, Noor Muhammad Kalwal are also at the G Os mess.
