SRINAGAR: Referring to the ongoing situation in Kashmir, militant outfit Hizbul Mujahideen on Friday appealed to the people of Kashmir to observe the Eid with simplicity and austerity and urged them to make the poor and the destitute, the orphans and the needy part of their happiness on this religious festival.
According to a statement issued to CNS, Hizb Chief Syed Salahuddin while addressing a high level meeting termed the unity among Kashmiri people particularly among leadership as a must need for sake of freedom struggle.
“Indian agencies through their agents have been utilizing all available resources to crush the freedom movement. It is our responsibility and duty to foil their sinister designs,” he said.
While lauding the role of common people for their determination and commitment Salahuddin said that people of Kashmir are fighting at military, political and diplomatic fronts for “liberation of their homeland”.
“India is responsible for the worsening situation in the state as it has deployed eight lakh troopers who enjoy impunity. People in Kashmir are being “detained, tortured and killed” for raising their voice against “oppression” and demanding the right to self determination,” he said adding the “Kashmir based pro-India politicians including Mehbooba Mufti are shedding crocodile tears.”
Expressing anguish over the criminal silence of international community particularly United Nations over Kashmir, Salahuddin urged upon Pakistan to play a proactive role in exposing India’s brutalities in Kashmir. “Pakistan should directly interfere if global bodies fail to provide help in resolving Kashmir issue,” he said and appealed Pakistan to apprise the world community about the designs of India that is busy in constructing a permanent wall along the border.
