Srinagar:The civil secretariat employees announced on Thursday that they will boycott their duties.
Chairman secretariat employees coordination committee Ghulam Rasool Mir told a sit-in protest of the employees that they will be boycotting duties from today only.
“We won’t put our lives in risk. Besides Kashmir we have asked employees from Jammu also to stay at homes and boycott duties,” he said.
Mir said the prevailing situation does not allow employees to join their offices.
“Why do they force us to resume duties? We have no issues if they suspend or withhold our salaries,” he said. As many as 4,000 employees work in the secretariat.
