Srinagar: Ten days after a few employees’ leaders were arrested in the Valley, the government government on Wednesday re-arrested them soon after their release from Baramulla’s sub jail.
The leaders, who had protested against the killing of civilians in the raging anti-India uprising, were released today on bail.
“But they were arrested again as soon as they were released. This clearly shows how the government is not obeying court orders,” said a spokesman for the leaders.
The leaders, including president Employees Joint Action Committee Ab Qayoom Wani and Farooq Ahmad Trali, had been arrested in Srinagar along with their associates.
The employees, the spokesman, said are being punished for condemning civilian killings.
“It is revenge. We are also humans and nobody can tolerate killing of innocent people. We are part of the society and can we remain mute to all happenings?” he added.
