SRINAGAR: Jammu Kashmir Awami Action Committee (AAC) on Thursday held a meeting at party’s headquarters, Mirwaiz Manzil Rajouri Kadal, where the participants “resolved to take forward the mission of resistance leadership and organisation and not rest till the ongoing movement reaches its final settlement”.
As per a statement issued here, Hurriyat Conference (M) chairman and AAC president Mirwaiz Umar Farooq addressed the meeting over phone. The participants condemned the “genocide” of Kashmiris during the last 34 days and the continuous arrest and house arrest of pro-freedom leaders.
They also paid tributes to martyrs of the ongoing 2016 uprising and prayed for immediate recovery of injured persons.
Mirwaiz in his address said: “The nation and freedom-loving people are determined to take the ongoing resistance movement to logical conclusion. Besides Kashmir, the peaceful protest demonstrations and marches witnessed in Chenab Valley, Pir Panchal range, Drass and Kargil, is satisfactory.”
Mirwaiz directed the AAC workers to “play a role in implementing the programmes of the unified resistance leadership at every level, identify and isolate agencies that are working overtime to foil the programmes and create communal and sectarian discord, and coordinate with all the groups and organisations working to help the needy and poor.”
