Srinagar: Stating that they will follow the Hurriyat programmes in Letter and Spirit, the Kashmir Valley Fruit Growers Cum Dealers Association (KVFG) on Staurday said that it was ready to bear business losses “to any extent to take the ongoing movement to its logical conclusion”.
In a statement General Secretary of the association said that that they held meeting via a video link with its office-bearers under the chairmanship of Bashir Ahmad Basheer in which it was decided that they would act upon the leaderships programmes in Letter and Spirit from time to time.
The association said that it shares the sentiments of the general public and that they are ready to bear losses to any extent for the purpose of implementation of Hurriyat programme.”
While condemning the killing of innocent civilians, the association condemned the use of pellet guns and “unwarranted firing on peaceful protesters”.
The association also passed a resolution in which it demanded “immediate ban on use of pellets by forces on peaceful protesters. And those Security forces who killed innocent people and injured thousands of people may be booked for severe punishment.”
“The Government of India may put all efforts for immediate settlement of Kashmir dispute, according to wishes of general people,” it demanded.
It asked the UNMNOGP, Amnesty International, HRC and other organizations to take immediate notice of the present unrest in the Valley. “Pressurize Government of India for stoppage of innocent killings and usage of pellets on peaceful protests with directions for immediate settlement of Kashmir despite on consultation with Hurriyat,” it asked to UNMNOGP, HRC, Amnesty International and other organizations.
It demanded an end to arrest spree and “unconditional release of youths and Hurriyat leaders.”
