SRINAGAR: Rightwing BJP’s national general secretary, Ram Madhav, and some ‘intellectuals’ are going to conduct a two-day brain-storming session to set agenda for speculated talks with the pro-freedom leadership amid the uprising in Kashmir.
According to a report carried by Chandigarh-based The Tribune newspaper, the session would be held at Patnitop, Jammu, on August 6 and 7.
‘Intellectuals’ from different parts of India will sit together and discuss the prevailing situation in the Valley, the report said.
Four government of India ministers belonging to the BJP—Suresh Prabhu, Nirmala Sitharaman, Jayant Sinha, and MJ Akbar—are expected to participate in the conclave, it said.
“The two-day meeting will be held under the banner of India Foundation, a think-tank comprising journalists, thinkers and intellectuals, who are known for their inclination towards the BJP and affiliated organisations,” it said.
Quoting sources, the report said Madhav, who is the one of the member of the Board of Director of India Foundation, was instrumental in organising the meeting.
“A group within the BJP is of the view that the stalled dialogue process with separatist groups of Kashmir should be started to engage such forces. The coming meeting of India Foundation is first step in this direction to do homework before initiating dialogue process on the vexed Kashmir issue,” the report said.
The report said the aim of the conclave, as per the official website of India Foundation, was to bring together like-minded thinkers on issues of national and international significance.
