Srinagar: People heckled Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti and raised pro-freedom slogans during her visit to Government College for Women Srinagar. A large number of parents and family members were present in and outside the College.
Hundreds of aspirants sitting for the common entrance test (CET) from all the ten districts reached Srinagar on Sunday morning.
The CET is being conducted by the Board of Professional Entrance Examinations (BOPEE) of the state for admission to MBBS course to various colleges in the state.
BOPEE officials had already shifted many centres from old city areas of Srinagar city to safer uptown areas.
Mehbooba according to news agency CNS during her visit to the College faced hostile people who were visibly annoyed over her presence and chanted pro freedom slogans. Mehbooba who was accompanied by top police brass and administration left the place without interacting with media persons at the spot.
A police official pleading anonymity while confirming the incident said that some “aggressive” parents tried to come close to the chief minister, however they were kept at bay. (CNS)
