SRINAGAR: Chairman JKLF, Mohammad Yasin Malik, on Monday said that the chief minister, Mehbooba Mufti, gives “ridiculous statements” to appease New Delhi and Nagpur.
Malik, who continues to be under detention, said the ongoing killing spree is as “act of genocide” and the forces involved cannot be “dubbed as saviours”.
“Killers of more than 50 innocent Kashmiris are being dubbed as saviors by the Indian leaders and their Kashmiri stooges, but killers are killers and can never become saviours,” he said in a statement issued here.
“Some weeks before the so-called chief minister felt ashamed of being a Muslim as some security personal had been killed, but today the killers of innocent Kashmiris are being dubbed as saviours by her.”
“We want to ask her that does she feel any shame for being an Indian stooge as Indian forces have killed so many innocents and taken eyesight of so many humans in Kashmir.”
He said Mehbooba was “proving her loyalty with her masters in Nagpur and Delhi” by issuing “ridiculous statements” and trying to equate Kashmir’s freedom struggle with terrorism.
Kashmir, he said, is an internationally-recognised dispute and the struggle of Kashmiris is just and legal struggle and cannot be equated with any terrorism.
Terming the Indian home minister Rajnath Singh’s statement about forging an emotional relation with Kashmir as “absurd”, the JKLF chairman said that it is like adding salt to the wounds of Kashmiris.
It actually shows the callous attitude of Indian leaders towards Kashmiris, he said.
“The Indian forces killed dozens and injured thousands and the killing spree is still going on. But instead of showing some sympathy with the bereaved families or expressing regrets for these killings, the Indian home minister advised us to refrain from even mourning for our beloved ones, stay calm, and watch our loved ones being butchered by the Indian forces,” Malik said.
