SRINAGAR: Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front chairman Mohammad Yasin Malik on Sunday said the Indian home minister Rajnath Singh’s visit to Kashmir and chief minister Mehbooba Mufti’s “crocodile tears” are “an eyewash”.
“Indian leaders and their Kashmiri stooges can deceive some people by these hypocritical tactics but cannot betray Kashmiri people and defeat their resolve to get freedom from illegal occupation,” Malik, he is under detention, said in a press statement issued here.
“Killing Kashmiris and putting blame on others and continues state of denial of Indian leadership, their Kashmiri stooges and biased media will never succeed in defeating our freedom struggle,” he said.
He termed the visit of Singh visit as a “useless effort” aimed at deceiving the international community and Indian people.
“The drop seen of this drama was staged by bringing people with their face covered in hospital vans and dubbing them representatives of Kashmiris,” he said.
“After keeping millions of Kashmiris under curfew, killing more than 50 innocents and showering bullets on more than 4,000 innocent people, this visit is probably aimed at emboldening killer forces and so-called Kashmiri rulers.”
“Before taking flight to Srinagar, the Indian home minister provided a clean chit to killer forces by stating that they are showing maxim restraint against growing Kashmiri attacks,” he said.
He said that India and its leaders and media know that everyone in Kashmir “is a staunch supporter of freedom and resistance, and ongoing protest movements are aimed at raising voice for freedom only”.
“But India, its Kashmiri stooges, and biased media are in a continuous state of denial and are trying to deny reality by shutting their eyes,” he said.
He said that blaming the oppressed instead of the oppressors is unethical and by doing so, India and “its stooges” have actually proved their callousness.
Malik said that the “so-called” chief minister, who also happens to be the home minister of the state, is “directly involved in all killings”.
Yet, he said, she visits Anantnag and Kupwara and consoles the families of those killed after bringing them to government rest houses.
“Such is the callousness and shamelessness of these fraud politicians that they tend to forget their own words and actions,” he said.
