SRINAGAR: Democratic Freedom Party (DFP) on Sunday said Indian rulers are hatching conspiracies to “divert the direction of the ongoing freedom movement” of the people of Jammu Kashmir and appealed to people to make the pro-freedom leadership’s ‘Islamabad Chalo’ call a success.
In a statement issued here, DFP general secretary Moulana Abdullah Tari said the need of the hour is to remain cautious and “not let any conspiracy against the movement succeed”.
“We must take utmost care of the weaker sections of the society during such hard times by constituting the Bait-ul-Maal committees in every mohalla and must follow the pro-freedom leadership’s programme in letter and spirit,” he said.
Tari said the people of Jammu Kashmir must “consolidate their ranks against the oppressors” and exhibit unity in “such crucial time”. “Our movement is not only against putting end to the use of pellet guns but we are struggling for the achievement of a greater goal (of freedom). India by resorting to extreme suppressive and repressive measures and the use of lethal weapons has proven that it is not among the civilised nations,” he said.
Hailing the traders fraternity and civil society for refusing to meet the Indian home minster Rajnath Singh, Tari said the move has “emboldened our spirits”. “The employees should follow the suit and not fall into the trap of anti-movement elements,” he said.
