Srinagar: The resistance leadership has extended shutdown for next 72 hours starting Saturday morning and appealed to the people to continue protests against the bloodbath during the past seven days.
People have been appealed to observe protests after evening prayers and raise pro-freedom slogans.
On Sunday, people have been appealed to visit the families of the people martyred during the past seven days in order to pay tributes to their courageous role in the freedom struggle of Kashmir.
On Monday, people have been asked to organise freedom march in their respective district headquarters.
The leadership also thanked the government and people of Pakistan for their unflinching support for the freedom struggle of Kashmiris.
“We welcome Pakistan government’s decision to observe July 19 as a Black Day to apprise the world about the ongoing genocide of Kashmiris by Indian forces and to aware them about the struggle of Kashmiris for right to self-determination,” a statement issued by the Hurriyats said.
“In response to Pakistan’s call, we appeal to the people of Kashmir and Kashmiris living abroad to observe July 19 as a Black Day,” the statement added.
