ANANTNAG: Seeking people’s cooperation in restoration of clam, Minister for Public Works, Abdul Rehman Veeri today said efforts are being made on various fronts to normalize the situation in Kashmir which has witnessed tragic loss of human lives during the past few days. He expressed deep anguish and grief over the loss of precious human lives.
Chairing a joint meeting of the officers of the district administration, police and the representatives of various political parties here today, the Minister urged upon the people in general and the youth in particular to contribute in bringing an end to the vicious cycle of violence. Legislators Gulzar Ahmad Wani and Sofi Yousuf, besides Deputy Commissioner Anantnag and other district officers were present at the meeting.
He asked the law and order enforcing authorities to exercise maximum restraint while dealing with protestors to prevent further loss of lives.
The Minster directed the officers of the district administration to ensure availability of the essentials including rations, drinking water and electricity to the people.
The Minister asked the Chief Medical Officer Anantnag to make available life saving drugs and ambulances in all the hospitals of the district. The CA&PD Department was asked to make available adequate quantity of rations and other essential commodities in the depots.
