Andrabi for concerted efforts to restore peace

KULGAM: Minister of State for Hajj and Auqaf, PHE and Irrigation, Flood Control, Industries and Commerce, Syed Farooq Andrabi today called for joint efforts to restore peace and normalcy in Kashmir.
“Every citizen has stakes in peace and tranquility and as such it becomes our shared duty to contribute in restoring peace and prevent further loss of human lives”, the Minister said while chairing a joint meeting of civil society and district officers here. Member of Parliament, Nazir Ahmad Laway, Deputy Commissioner Kulgam, Showkat Aijaz, SSP Kulgam, Mohammad Irshad, members of civil society and district officers attended the meeting.
The Minister highlighted the need for strengthening the peace restoration process and consolidating measures to safeguard civilian life and property, even as he stressed on discouraging violence and vandalism. He said violence brings misery and complicates day to day issues.
Andrabi urged the law enforcing authorities to exercise maximum restraint while dealing with the law and order situation. The Minister also directed the officers to remain stationed at the headquarters and be proactive in providing essential services. He called for prompt response in mitigating public sufferings arising out of the situation.
